Jessica Malone returns to Ashland, OR April 17th at The Columbia Hotel.
Jessica Malone creates California folk that lives in the space between tenderness and grit — music that’s equal parts dust-covered poetry and glowing, psychedelic warmth. Her songs feel intimate and otherworldly at once, blending Laurel Canyon harmonies with Nashville-honed songwriting and a restless indie spirit. Fresh off recording new music in Nashville, she brings her work to the stage in many forms: from stripped-down solo and duo performances, to a spellbinding quintet gathered around a single condenser mic, all the way to a full nine-piece band with a blazing horn section. No matter the size, her shows move between hushed vulnerability and explosive, soul-lifting catharsis.
This award-winning songstress, who holds a BA in Vocal Performance, has played a multitude of festivals including, Live Oak Music Festival, The Redwood Ramble, Camp Deep End, Whole Earth Festival, Napa Earth, Davis Music, BottleRock, NAMM 2018, and performed on stages as prominent as the Harris Center Three Stages and the Mondavi Center, and opened for the likes of John Paul White and Arlo Guthrie.. Described as, “the real deal,” by Nat Keefe of Hot Buttered Rum, her tone a blend of Brandi Carlile, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, and a magic all her own. Her second full length album “Gold Flowers of the West” was released on June 27th, 2024 and features her talented band plus members of Hot Buttered Rum, Joe Craven, and other special guests. Her latest single “INDIGO” drops on April 30th, 2026!
The winner of several SAMMIES (Sacramento Music Awards) as Artist of the Year, Singer-songwriter of the Year, and Folk/Bluegrass Artist of the Year, Malone, who holds a BA in Vocal Performance, currently resides in Northern California, where she performs regularly with her band.
